Vilano Fest 2018: Tunes, Tastings and Tours

Friday: The Sea Turtle soiree event brings back the 1920s themed party on the Vilano pier; complete with Ramona’s eight piece band, food, drinks and partying under covered tents. 7pm-10pm

Saturday: The Tour of Homes showing the great homes in the Vilano community showcased to highlight history, uniqueness and novelty. 10am-6pm

Saturday: the Music Fest with Dish n Fish, a day of the area’s finest local musicians with great food and a “slider competition” 12pm-8pm

National Park Week - Castillo de San Marcos National Monument special evening candlelight event

National Park Week is about celebrating America´s treasures – the national parks! This year´s National Park Week theme “Park Stars,” celebrates everything from starry skies to superstar volunteers, park features, and resources. Parks, programs, and partners nationwide invite people everywhere to explore stories, experiences, and sites that brighten the National Park System and public lands.

Come see stars at Castillo, like rangers, volunteers and partners that have made stewardship their passion. Ask questions, listen to stories or just enjoy being in the nation´s oldest masonry fortification to watch the sunset. We invite you to find your park and discover the national parks and programs in your own backyard.

This is an open house-style program; visitors may reserve free tickets for an entry time – 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, 7:45, or 8:15 p.m. – and be permitted to stay inside the Castillo as long as they like until the event ends at 8:45 p.m. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis and are available two weeks prior to the event. Tickets may be reserved in advance at the ticket booth or by phone by calling (904) 829-6506 ext. 239 on Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited. Helping Hands – Hosting Game Day for Project Autism of St Johns County

@Golf Club at South Hampton
With April being Autism Awareness month we are looking forward to Wednesday April 25 when we will host a Game Day to help fund Project Autism of St. Johns County who focus on purchasing technology and equipment for Saint Johns schools and ESE departments. The location is the Golf Club at South Hampton from 10 until 3. Come join us on April 25 for the fun. Admission will be $25 and includes lunch and door prizes. Thirteen dollars of each ticket will be given to Project Autism. Raffles tickets for complete golf packages for 4 players at both South Hampton and St Johns Country Club will be available for an extra $5. Some of the games we will be playing are mahjong, bridge, dominoes, penny from heaven card game, and other card games along with board games. Please plan to attend and support this worthy cause. Helping Hands of Saint Johns County is a volunteer organization started in 2006 that meets from 10 AM to noon the last Friday of the month. There are no dues, officers or stress. Members come when they can and do what they can with what is donated. The group meets a Faith Community Church, 3450 CR 210 W, Saint Johns FL 32259. A Taste of St. Augustinewill be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340 A1A South, St. Augustine. This signature food festival serves up tastes from St. Augustine’s well-known restaurants. Restaurants will compete for the prestigious TOStA (Taste of St. Augustine) awards, with categories including Best Family Dining, Best Ethnic, Best Upscale and Best Dessert, as well as the ever-popular People’s Choice. Everyone gets to vote. There will be a children’s area with fun activities including crafts and face-painting as well as live music throughout the day. Admission is $5, and taste tickets are $1 each with restaurants charging between 1-5 tickets per taste. The annual Race to the Taste 5K is part of the event.
